I'm not saying it was the right thing to do.
And also gonna say, if a taxi driver got out of his car and slapped your sister across the face, you'd just call the police? I sure as hell wouldn't.

Me giving him a slap back is a bit different to getting another mate to go and beat him up with me though.
One person hitting the guy, i'd not have too much of a problem with at all as it'd be a natural instinct. Two people doing it so the guy cannot defend himself is pathetic.

I know what you mean, i'd never join in a fight if it would mean outnumbering the 'opposition' but the other bloke with the girl's sister is also friends with her, plus they'd had a skinful.
