| Nothing about its role in appeals, but I don't see what other authority or organistion would be in a position to provide the crown case in an appeal?

| There are lawyers that work for the Crown, who are completely separate from the CPS iirc. I think the CPS only present cases in court for minor cases.

| That's certainly not the case. A friend of the family works as a lawyer for the CPS and she's been involved in some very high profile cases. Even saw her interviewed on Sky News outside the High Court a few weeks back.

Will he be due compensation if the retrial finds him not guilty, or will it be an unsafe conviction or something meaning he’ll get nothing?
