Nah, just me, it takes so long to load after i've put in my password/username when it's connecting to the server (or whatever it does), thats why i leave it on 24/7. They did put me some more RAM in when they recently upgraded me to XP but it didnt help. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Does it use a network log in? Is there potential for other users to access it?
Did they try cleaning up the Hard Drive when adding more RAM?
Can you have free access to your C drive?

Dude, we've had a new computer system (we're also talking NHS here) for over 2 years now and it's still got more bugs in it than FM08.
Cost the trust - only covering two sites here - cost £18m to get Misys to create the software and support it for 5 years.
Thing is the old system was easier to use, did more etc, although it did look like a DOS based RPG, at least it bloody worked.
| What's the software, Batch? </BLOCKQUOTE>
Cant even remember the name tbh. It's made by Misys, there is only our hospital with it iirc. It basically runs the whole show though. Appointments, admissions, blood results, xrays are put up there rather than onto film these days, patient records that have been scanned can be viewed on there. Loads of stuff, none of which works too well

| Yes it's a network log in. The rest of the office uses the same log-in/password - so that probably about 15 comps at any one time.
Not sure if they cleaned up the hard drive, they did it one day when i was on my dinner.
I can access my c: drive but tbh i think all that is on there is MS Office, the actual software we use is kind of web browser based so afaik that is stored on a server thats up in the loft.

Ours is web browser based, hence the pointless Duo Core 2 processors in them.
Id hardly call them a PC the amount of stuff they have blocked access to

when you're in tomorrow, do two things.
a) Go to C: documents and settings\ and see how many profiles are there.
Any profiles that are of colleagues, get rid of.
Additionally, right click on your own and go to properties, check the size of it. If it's over a few mb then you might want to give it a clean.
Turn on show all files and folders if you know how to do it, then go into local settings and the clear out the temp files and temp internet files folders.
Check your profile to see the size again. (make sure you've closed the previous properties window)
Shut down, restart, check your profile size again. if it's the original size again, complain to the IT bods that theres a problem with your server profile. if it's the same size, see how it goes performance wise.

Trying to understand the core issue you guys are experiencing ? Basically, the system does not allow for the correct of entries as once they are submitted there is no recall facility to correct any error ? Can you not enter/access the number of the entry to correct any anomaly ?
