Simply unbelievable. The audacity to do that is mind-boggling. There must be a law, even along the lines of a public decency crime that can get those parents surely? Then again it's such a shame that the last message could not be recovered from the computer.
I rarely become outraged by much these days. It's the old story of once you hear one bad story you become de-sensitized by the rest, yet I have never heard of anything like this and worse of all the not named parents seem to simply be shrugging it off like they have done nothing.

msteuk I don't think you can ever say that someone would have killed themselves before a certain age.
| True, I did over-argue my point. What I'm really saying is that this kid was obviously very messed up, had talked about suicide before etc, and hanging herself was a completely disproportionate response to what happened to her. Again, I think the bullying was despicable, but I can't agree with the people who say they should be criminally liable for her death, because imo the kid's reaction was more down to her own instability than the bullying itself.

I don't see anything that unusual about this, other than the 'cyber' element. Sure there's plenty of parents out there that make the lives of other kids hell on behalf of their offspring.
In fact, wasn't there a murder case in the UK not that long ago when the parents set fire to the house of some girl who'd fallen out with their daughter?

The writing style of that article was awful. Could have been half the length without dragging it out.
Not that that matters ofc.

Basically a reason for clucking mothers to get righteous and hysterical about the evil, wicked internet.

Now I'm only in my first year of my Law degree but I'm sure someone more experienced could argue that.
Egg-shell skull case perhaps? You must take the victim as you find them? Their physical condition or mental condition does not come into relevence really if she has been pushed into suicide? Now I'm not totally sure about this but Megans unstability is no excuse for her suicide

you have to read the full story to get a real veiw of the situation
shocking really that nothing has happened to the offending parents/child as they are the people who have made Meg kill herself imo |

Ah, but is it enough of a significant cause to satisfy legal causation? Not to mention the lack of mens rea.

would like to add, if any of you on here had been bullied for years, used to be fat, had to take depression pills and all the stuff Megan had to do and put up with, then somebody of the opposite sex said they like you and all this stuff, then told you that the whole school hated you and the world would be better off with-out you, not a single one of you would say 'oh i could shake that off'
the girl was a mental wreck ffs
