You haven't read it have you? Jesus one of the paragraph headline is SHADOWY CYBERSPACE with most of the article focusing on the girl being cyber bullied. Article is aiming at two things, internet and the other girls parents. One is wrong and the other it has no proof of.

my own personal interpretation of the darwin award is for people who are too stupid to live... people who commit suicide due to the internet are imo too stupid to live.

nope. there are plenty of people who have a good reason to commit suicide, that 13 year old girl did not.

She was fat.

For six weeks she was not aware she was being set up.

She thought the boy was real and trusted him. So she would not have considered blocking him.

When she died she still believed that the boy was real. Presumably she was distressed because someone she had trusted had suddenly turned nasty towards her.


The problem was not the internet. It was that the adults were willing to go to so much effort to mess with her head. For example manipulating her vulnerability by making the boy have a troubled childhood

there is no good reason to kill yourself, unless you are already in the process of dieing, and wish to end it more quickly. we all die soon enough anyway.
