the firewall that i have is the one that comes with windows xp, and msn is on my exceptions list on that, so persumably it'll be ok?

I had the same problem a lot of time ago.. I asked for info to MSN Staff and they said that it could be something about the settings of the clock and date of my computer.. and fortunately it was so.. So try to check this settings out..
