Ok, on fear of sounding silly here can I just get confirmation on something.
Playing as Norwich in the Championship, it's just gone January so I'm looking into Bosman signings for next season but the majority of players I check don't have the 'Approach to Sign' option. I've checked and their contract definately run out on 30/06 of that year.
Am I missing something regarding the details of when the bosman process can work? It does appear sometimes but usually when it's out of country (i.e. Not England)
Wait a min fella's! it DOES apply in england, but you have to wait longer! i think you have to wait until june or july (not sure on exact dates) and then the 'approach to sign' option appears, this only happens when your an english club trying to get players from other english clubs! you get the 'approach to sign' option on players from foreign straight away when the players contract has 6 months left to run.

Yup. So, if you're playing in England, you can still sign players out of contract in 6 months from any other country ie) Scotland, Spain, Italy etc. For players based in England, you'll have to wait for a month before their contract.
Most contracts will run until July, so you'll need to remember 1st Jan for non England and 1st June for English players.
