do I want my players to be happy?? especialy in pre match team talks, when I say to them: we can win this match. and then they are happy-
I dont want them to be happy, I want my sister to be happy when I buy her a candy, or my girlfriend after sex.
I want my players to be more agressive, after my team talk, fired up, to run few km more, relaxed, pressured, determined to win, even scared to fail!!!
ok after match they can be happy when you say well done lads, you deserved your win.
Im still not sure how much impact team talks have on players performances, as some of guys here are complainig. I dont thonk it should be that much. as I understand, team talks should be instrument of motivating nad as such, they should slightly affect some mental attributes (agression, bravery, flair, concentration, work rate). I just cannot see how your motivating could affect stamina or finishing rate. there are players are good under pressure and those who are not.
IRE media is allways highering the tensions before match, so the managers job is to fire up or to qoiet down the tension of his team. there is not that much what coach can do 15 minutes before the match starts, if he hasnt done anything days before.
I witnesed some good and some bad motivation, when I was playing basketball. now I see thanks to our coach's good motivation we achieved more than our ability. but that was a lasting procces, he was talking to us all the time, players became friends, team atmosphere was great. in his pre game team talks, he was mostly firing us up, so we gave 100% in each match. but there was nothing he could do in final when we lost aggainst the team who was a head higher then we were.
in any team sport there are so many factors influancing the match. team talk is not that important. if that's not true, there must be smth wrong with mclaren's team talks
On a more serious note - all of the interaction features in FM are below par. Team talks are far too general and a bit useless since a lot of the time nobody seems to be listening.
I would guess the whole interaction thing should eventually allow you to roleplay a type of manager - quiet and reserved (Martin O'Neill), angry (Peter Reid) or just plain sily (Peter Grant).

You want your gf to be just happy after sex? Are you sure you don't want her to be inspired to a great performance next time? </BLOCKQUOTE>
