What I don't understand is why would you ever complain about the ref. As in real life, it's not like they are going to change their decision after the match is over.
Maybe the game could punish refs that make lots of mistakes by making them work in a lower division in the next season, but that probably is too complicated for such a little improvement (unless it already does and I haven't payed attention).

It can get you on players favoured personel list
although it does depend on personality - some think you are right to speak your mind others think you should control your temper.
irl it gives the fans someone to vent their frustration on other than the team and their manager.
i lost a penalty that was debated now i havnt complained once to the uefa and they warn me right away but when i do it on club game they say silent whats the diffrence or is it just the uefa way of being gay
I got a touchline ban (to be served during a vital cup tie, no less) for complaining about an offside goal. You know how far offside the player was when the ball was played? 35 YARDS
I took a corner, it was just my goalie and their striker in my half. Their defender boots the ball upfield, striker picks it up, rounds my keeper and scores. I complain and get fined and banned.
I know the FA are petty about people pointing out reffing errors, but they aren't that petty.
I only use it if two or more players are mentioned in the media report and are complaining about the decision. I then choose the least nasty option. Probably do this about once or at most twice a season.
90% of the time I just press on or go for no comment.
touchline ban is pointless because in real life the managers in the stand can be in contact with their ass man over the phone e.g. dennis wise 2 weeks ago (leeds V hereford)

Yeah but in the game you can't do that, you just have to let your useless assistant control the game...
