usually i find after the first goal, it sort of opens a floodgate where the other team lets in random crap goals which under normal circumstances wouldnt go in.

Well, it's not as if you're man utd playing wigan every game (4-0 almost every time..). You are playing with humans versus human, albeit virtual. A team can do the stupidest things, that's a fact. While you do everything right one week you can do everything wrong the next.

Take Benfica and Liverpool. Benfica play to their best, win 2-1 (or 2-0, don't care which). Liverpool play to their best and Benfica barely bother to show up, 8-0, and that's for a team with no strikers! Funny old game, football

Also.Does anyone know if there is a bug to do with marking in this game?I have my central defenders (King and Garay) on man marking the strikers, but when the opposition attack, the strikers are completely free!Its really annoying as they dont seem to keep to my instruction.

Freak results happen, but i'm a avid bolton fan and have never been able to re-create that ... until a couple of seasons in i've always found chelski and Man U almost impossible to beat. Liverpool and Arsenal not so, and seem to under-perform (but this is a known issue).

Try the patch ... and different tactics ... but furthering other comments ... WANDERERS WANDERERS WANDERERS ...

True, freak results do occur (jn-game and in real life). Not sure if this is one of those, or just a tacticul blunder on your part.

Man Utd went down by three goals by half-time vs Spurs at Old Trafford once, remember, and they were thumped by teams like Man City and Southampton. SImilarly, Arsenal have been thoroughly smashed by Utd, and Chelsea have also conceded 5 against them.

my first season with liverpool i was struggling to get things right my upcoming fixtures were;

chelsea home in the league
marseille champ lge quarter final home
chelsea in a cup not sure which
marseille champ lge quarter final away
man united away

think this is the hardest run of games ive ever had but i hammered chelsea 5-0 so i was made up thinking my tactics were great but then lost to marseille 1-2 before being beat by chelsea 3-0 with the same tactics it doesnt make sense.
