Erm..clearly the "bug" wasn't fixed in the patch, otherwise Jimbo wouldn't of had brought it up.
What works for one, may not work for another.
And the facts you claim, only one can be backed up and that's the ratings by game review sites. The other one, not.
Don't post if all you're going to do is start up and argument as I don't appreciate it, and neither does everyone else.
I suggest you look at the thread called "These forums" at the top of the General section. Have a good read and realize the point I'm making.

Why do players stand around? did you check "tight marking"? Did you check "closing down?" too lazy to do so? your team is too good? if you did, then why didnt I get these problems? Well I used to but I did follow some advice from the following website: www.fm-britain.co.uk
It contains DETAILs about set up defence, attack, and tactic frameworks and what each slider does. and believe me it is VERY VERY helpful, because I used to have problems you have, having a 2nd class striker dribble past Gallas like Galls is an absolute idiot.
Instead of getting things like 5-5 I keeps getting 1-0 or 2-1 or mostly low-scoring games. Yet I manage to shut off the opponent pretty nicely.
About the heading things, do you mean BEFORE the patch? Yea before the patch I also have Wayne Rooney winning headers above Senderos then chase his own header and score but it never happened after the patch and the effectiveness of a heading monster is reduced. IMO anyway
| Thanks for the advice, but the 3 games I lost, all of them I won but the result changed from after game team talk to the result page!
No tactical advice and changing sliders will stop that from happening! As the stupid high scores and comebacks, reading on the bugs forum they seem to a big problem for most on the beta patch.
In my book that is a major bug, pardon the pun, and one of many!

Btw, try winning the Euro 2008 with a weaker team then England.
How about Azerbaijan or Estonia? Do that without cheating and you might have a point.

The problem is nobody knows how many customers are happy and how many are unhappy, the happy customers are usually quiet and its always the unhappy ones you hear from so there could be x amount of people complaining about the game but y amount could by happy but we never hear from those ones.

Rep Power: 3 | ArseneFM. I don't know where you got the idea that the "lower league attendance/finance bug" was fixed in the patch, as that is simply not the case.
Not only was it not fixed then, but as far as I know, it is still being worked on now.
To be honest, there isn't an awful lot accurate about your posts in this thread at all. Quote: |
There are SOME unhappy customers but there are MORE happy ones and thats a stonewall fact.
| That's a ridiculous statement to make because there is no way to back it up and prove it. Quote: |
most players and review sites such as IGN rate is as high as the previous games and thats a fact too.
| You seem to be mixing up your personal opinion with "fact". Quote:
You think with the BUG its unplayable but
A. SI fixed it in the patch
| No they didn't. To the best of my knowledge, they weren't even aware of the situation until I informed them about it on 24th October at 22:25. They then didn't get my save game until the afternoon of 26th October.
Now the testing boys are good, but I don't think even they could fix a bug that they hadn't found yet.
Just because we are saying that there are serious bugs in the game that affect the long term structure of the game, we're not saying the game is carp, we're just saying it needs more work.
SI, for there part are trying really hard to do the work and give us the quality game that we want. It's not as if they have released the game, made the sales and sat back counting their money while planning the Christmas do and the Summer holidays. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks, they will make big in-roads into some of the more serious issues and we will all be happy.
You honestly don't do yourself or anyone else any favours by posting things that are simply not true.

The "beta patch" proves that this game was not ready for release, and it still isn't. It is a beta and SIs customers are acting as not only unpaid testers, but people who are paying for the "privilege" of helping to sort out the obvious problems.
I guess SI just aren't allowed to delay releases any more, which is a very sad thing. I'm baffled as to why people bother with the games until they're patched and the facepacks etc are available now.

SI, imo, has this sort of smoke and mirror relationship with its more hard core fanbase, by that I mean those who show up, read, and participate on these here boards.
SI will always say they interact with their fans far more than a normal company would. And by a certain respect, that is true. However they are also irrationally paranoid when it comes to the real meat. I have never seen another company so deathly afraid of setting a release date for their marquee product. Their excuse was "we got burned in the past". That is almost res ipse loqitur.
I cannot stand, cannot stand, cannot stand "the patch will be ready when it is ready". How hard is it, and what is at stake, when an annoucment is made "yhea, somethings aren't working as planned. We should get them undercontrol and the patch could take 2-4 weeks."
SI, trust your own fanbase. Know that it isn't populated by irrational idiots who lack all self control and will storm the SI towers should heaven forbid you announce that the game or a patch will be delayed a few days.

Not on anyone's side here, but I've been visiting this hospital in San Francisco everyday lately and it's got me thinking of how things in life have general patterns. Everyday it's a jungle there and people have a funny way of expressing themselves. Most of the time the people there are asking the wrong questions to the wrong people. The impatience is causing total mayhem and after a while the one's that are in charge don't even answer anybody because it will be to no avail because in the next ten minutes someone else will come barging in asking the same question.
I'm sure the doctors working there would like nothing better to patch people's problems up, but they only have two arms and two legs and there are a lot of problems to choose from. Which one is the morally correct one? Most likely not the one you have, as there is usually another poor sod that needs attention a little more badly.
Most the points that are discussed in the forums these days would be the equivalent of someone going into the Emergency Ward and asking why they have a splinter in their finger and if there isn't a doctor on standby to take care of them exclusively. Most of the issues are mendable, but it is a personal issue and not a game issue. So there are a few bugs. Most ly I'm under the impression that the Bug every-one really want's is the one that causes their relatively poor approach to the game make them win everything without even giving the game any thought. Lose one game or a few and that's it, nothing works.
The game is not perfect: true. The game doesn't read your mind: true. But how many other games haven't I played where they put the "hidden chambers" in a place where I couldn't find them right away? Is this annoying? Could spend a whole evening trying to find that annoying "key" to the next level. Did I complain once to the game makers that they didn't put it where I had wanted it?
Today the game is what it is and I'm sure that in time, as we become more aware of how to tackle the different issues in game terms, and the SI become more advanced in making guidelines in how the different aspects in the game interact with each other, we will have the ultimate manager game. But if people expect that to be that they will win everygame without trying then you might as well "hang your boots up"...

This is quite a good thread and is generating some interesting debate.
I'm surprised that we have no SI comment here, or at least some comment to acknowledge the debate.
Some good and valid points on both sides, how refreshing |
