Liverpool v Sunderland about 5/6 years ago. Liverpool had 31 shots, Sunderland had about 2...The Score...0-0

i remember chelsea vs. tel aviv about 8/9 years ago, chelsea had 27 shots and lost at home, but we are talking about once in a blue moon

Exactly. Irl this happens once every two years - in FM it happens every bloody match! Damn it's frustrating!

The key here is the type of chances created. Games on FM and in real life can be choc full of shots from distance without any goals, and that's fair enough, but in FM there is a ridiculous amount of clear cut one-on-one chances that are being missed by quality players.

Tempo/time wasting are irrelevant when a player is clean through on the goalkeeper. The only things that matter should be the players morale, finishing and composure.

In FM, it's almost as if every type of chance is treated equally, be it a striker clean through or a shot from distance - it's almost as if you're just as likely to score from either, and that shouldn't be the case.

The problem is also that you created 30 chances against a team like that -AWAY. That for sure never,ever happens irl.
I also need alot off chances to score with arsenal, and usually outshot my comp with big margine. But its wrong either way, i never have seen say arsenal making say 15 clear cut chances at say old spankfort...i tend just to overlook it, would be pretty boring "highlightwise" if the engine took into account real time chances made...we would be watching the clock for the entire matches lol

So when you create numerous chances with good players and are constantly greeted with "even his manager's got his head in his hands", "the crowd are shaking their heads in disbelief at that miss" and "how did he miss that?", it's tactical? Should I be looking at getting my players open shots 10 yards out rather than five?

Is that really the case? I once kept stats for a couple of seasons in FMP7 and noticed that my selective memory was stronger than I would have thought.
