I’ve finally given up! This is what made me give up, wait for this… an offside from a corner!!! Stunned, a little shocked I calmly took the CD out, from the CD tray, held it with both hands closed my eyes and broke it…my word, it felt good. Suddenly I felt a sense of relief. That’s £34.99 wasted. Still, I’ve got to say, I’ve never felt better…breaking the game that is not playing it.

This game, to say the least, is not ready and honestly not good enough for the amount you pay. I don’t understand why you have to buy the game and wait for it to be fixed, if it’s not ready why release it. I just feel sorry for the people who don’t know about the updates or patches; they most likely think they’re playing the end product. The crazy things that happen in the game makes you wanna weep!!! (I know, I’m a big baby, yes, I said it, not you!) Like, failing to hit the target from 2 yards out, come on!!! The number of goals that get scored from players making mistakes, nonsense!!! Plus... oh, this is the pits, it really is, the offside rule, someone enlighten the designers that fifa…you know, the world governing body of football, have changed the rule, like about 5 years ago! The new rule states that if a player is not interfering with play he/she is not offside. Come on!!! Pull your fingers out and read the rules. The only noticeable difference in this game, from previous versions, is the interface…and the colour, it is now red, wow! The gameplay is the same; the commentary is the same, all the words and phrases are the same. Only now I’ve run out of patience and quietly resigned.

TBH this is a tough one to code into the match engine.

Hard for a machine to interpret wether a player is having an impact on the play.
I dealt my share of SI criticism but this one I feel that I have to give a pass on.

You know you could've just returned it to where you bought it and said it was faulty??? You must have bags of money to waste. That or you didnt really break it

But I do agree with the offside rule - even taken into account the rubbish refs and assistants irl - The game engine doesn't seem capable of defining a correct offside. Well, it obviously does sometimes

Again, I do agree with strikers becoming really dumb and rubbish, players with high composure, finishing etc are missing sitters far too frequently, I don't know if SI have made the keepers too good or the strikers too poor - but far too many times gk's are man of the match after saving up to 30 shots a game. It's not very realistic - once, twice a season maybe - but almost every game? C'mon!

Still, not worth killing a game over - full patch will (hopefully) be out soon - and hopefully most of the bugs will be fixed. Plus, with the PC (or mac) version, you do at least get the option of multiple patches and free customisable content.

The game is buggy as hell, its true. But at least they are working fast on repairing it. It is still not as bad as Atari, that is unfinished games
Again, we have experienced this with fm 05, fm 06, while fm 07 was a bit better, so really no surprise there.

offside from a corner is the worst I have heard. I started a thread on my problems with the game and it turned into a slagging match. There is alot of problems and the patch desperately needed. These games should of been tested for months to iron out what we all have found wrong with this game.

I seriously doubt the OP broke his disc. It would be beyond idiotic to snap it considering the forthcoming patch and that a refund could have been obtained.

I hope OP feels quite sheepish once the haze of self-righteousness subsides.
