Default Banning Referees for Poor Performances

Given the new trend of the English FA of banning referees for a number of weeks after a poor performance (Clattenburg - Everton v Liverpool; Styles - Liverpool v Chelsea), I think FM could embrace a similar philosophy.

Currently there is nothing to be gained from complaining about poor performance by a referee (other than the 'triumph' of having the FA "stay silent" on the issue), only the possibility of incurring a touchline ban. I would certainly feel somewhat vindicated if a referee were banned after costing me a victory.

SI could possibly take this further, they could allow for the opportunity to play mind games involving the referee in a forthcoming match and this in turn could affect his performance to a minor degree. It shouldn't go too far otherwise there could be ludicrous "cure worse than disease" scenarios.

Nonetheless I think its an avenue that could be explored...

I already can see the new-features list for Fm2009:

now referees can be banned by FA.

I would like it, if the can adapt and learn.

I'd enjoy nothing more than reading a referee got banned for poor performance.

Yes, I have to say that it's a shame there's been nothing like this implemented in FM08. You are given the option to complain about referee's - but it's is only you who gets punished.

I'm sure this used to be a feature a while ago, possibly when it was still championship manager?

I believe in CM 3 it was where you could complain enough and get the ref sacked.

i'd love to see this.....at least it might stop me serving numerous touchline bans and costing me fines if I was right to keeping moaning about the refs!

Yup, think it was 00/01 where if more than one manager complained about the same ref, he would be sacked. Awesome feature.
