This would be the key thing, to me.
We know what a "normal" referee behaves like.
We've all seen games that got out of control because the ref wouldn't give a yellow for anything less than assault-with-a-deadly-weapon .. and we've all seen games spoiled because of a ref giving out cards for innocuous challenges.
I'm fine with that - as an individual's "trend towards discipline", it makes great sense to include in the game. However, I'd like to see taken it as a sign of immaturity in the referee - and to have some process by which the referee takes on feedback and "learns", progressing towards the epitome of refereeing perfection .. only to retire, because he's turned 46 just as he reaches it.
The only times ive seen this at a major stage was Poll in the 2006 world cup, and too right, but i think it would make a good feature. Shame UEFA are sielent over the free-kick that cost us scots a chance to play in a tournament.
have seen this more than once IRL, but only they get demoted to a lower league not sacked.. yes this feature WAS availible on a previous version but i cant for the life of me think which one

And the goal that, if called properly, would've made that free kick irrelevant.
