So far, it would seem to me that this is the most dissapointing and unrealistic football manager there has been. I'm a massive fan of the series playing since champ man 98/99, in particular I thought the last was excellent, and all the more challenging as the computer worked out your tactics after a while.

However, it all seems to have gone a bit far. Managing big teams is ok to a degree, but as someone who likes managing in the lower leagues I feel totally lost with the game. Tactics seem to crumble after about 6 games, changing tactics for away and home games seems to make things worse.

I've been playing it since the day it came out so I'm not simply complaining as im not used to the game. I'm just very frustrated that it seems very hard to build a team and have any kind of consistancy.

I hope there is a big improvement with the patch, otherwise I've wasted £25 and have been totally let down with one of my favourite games.

If anyone has read this, just needed to vent my issues toward the game.

i would try here to see if you can pick up any tips at the moment i have done well at both lower leagues (4-4-2) and with a higher quality team (5-3-2) with wingbacks

There's no point to managing lower league teams in the long term until the patch comes out due to being sacked for overachieving and a stadium expansion bug. But I played in the BSS for a season and found it to be a reasonably good experience personally.

i agree its not worth starting a long term game until the patch but its not as if the over achieving bug is in every game when i over achieved my board was pleased and luckily i havent encountered the expansion bug yet

Well I do ok, managed to come 6th with Crewe in their first season, which I was reasonably pleased with although we were top for ages. But there just doesn't seem to be any improvement, nothing to build on, tactics seem to be playing a huge role over quality of players. I've improved the squad, but I just don't feel I see the effects as it just doesn't seem possible to settle in on a tactic for any length of time. It'll work for a while, then collapse, then I implement something totally different, works for a while, then galls apart again. It's really tedius and this constant work on tactics just makes the game less enjoyable for me.

I've not encountered those bugs either. Although I did get congratulated for gaining promotion last season when I didn't! Swings and roundabouts really!

hmmmm i did start tweaking more and more but then decided to go for a differnet approach i go for the same tactic evey game and dont adjust the sliders or anything it sounds like you are doing ok even with these problems but what i found i had done wrong was that i just had to buy players that fit into my tactic rather than my tactic fitting in around my players dunno if that helps at all

Maybe this is general every day discussions or somethin. Icy might have come in wishing to discuss nigella lawsons new book or somethin, sorry mate but gordon ramsey's just a better chef!
