There's no way they would not offer you another contract IRL, END OF.

It's got to be a bug and I'm sure it will be sorted in the revised patch.

Sorry some typos - corrected.

Well if you meant Brian Horton then you're not even quoting a similar scenario! Brian Horton took over from Warnock who resigned after getting Huddersfield promoted. Horton had a decent season in Division One, then narrowly avoided relegation the following season. After a crap start to the season after, he was sacked and replaced by Jackson sparking 'The Great Escape'. So Horton was sacked for failing to meet board expectations rather than for overacheiving and not being kept by the board!

You haven't been sacked, you just haven't been given a new contract. Perhaps they thought the club was moving forward to quickly under your guidance and felt they would prefer someone who would give more steady progress.
There are cases in real life where managers are sacked despite exceeding board expectations.
I agree.
Also, the board might believe that you taken the club as far as you can (based on your reputation), & that their stature has risen enough to atract a manager of a higher quality (club reputation) </BLOCKQUOTE>

I don't believe any normal club would do this until you start faltering. Especially as he is only in the Championship, there is no requirement for such a reaction. Again, this displays a lack of intelligents in the AI. This should have been focused on a lot more in this game. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Actually, he took over, left him in charge for a little while then sacked him... It wasn't an instant thing.

Yes indeed - Mickey had just over one month to impress Al-Fayed, didn't and was then sacked.

The thing is, a new board set new targets - Al Fayed wanted more success which Adams wasn't delivering given the resources available to him, so he was replaced with his Al Fayed's idea of a 'dream team'.

Adams simply isn't an example of a manager, as you stated, of being 'sacked for getting Fulham promoted', because the appearance of Al Fayed, his money and his expectations change the picture dramatically.

The case here, however, is of managers being released from their club despite achieving beyond the targets set for them and without any form of upheaval in the board room. This doesn't happen very often, and the only two examples put forward so far follow on from board takeovers.

Yes, as I said I got my facts and dates across.

For some reason I was thinking that Peter Jackson'd first spell at the club and the board takeover happened before Horton's time, and that it was Horton who was replaced by Bruce..... So by getting my dates across I lost track of The Great Escape.

Ross County this season. Top of division 2 in Scotland, sacked the manager because they didn't like the type of football being played. Possibly doesn't fit in with the original point, but he was achieving/exceeding targets set for him and got the dunt.

i cant stop laughing when people say it's normal being fired for overachieving with any team , there might be some examples but not as much as in FM, imagine if we all played a network game, we would all be fired after 2-3 years, would that be realistic????

lets just accept it's a bug, it doesn't matter whether mickey adams was sacked years ago.
it's a bug that means some fail to get offered new deals

I found my position precarious despite getting Ross County promoted to the Scottish Premier League in two seasons. My second year, I was told to avoid relegation from D1 - I managed to win the division by 20 points. The board gave me a new contract, but was a close thing - and my job security was only "stable." There was rampant speclation in the press about who would be replacing me.

That's lame. And not fun.
