Why is this unrealistic?
You haven't been sacked, you just haven't been given a new contract. Perhaps they thought the club was moving forward to quickly under your guidance and felt they would prefer someone who would give more steady progress.
There are cases in real life where managers are sacked despite exceeding board expectations.
I agree.
Also, the board might believe that you taken the club as far as you can (based on your reputation), & that their stature has risen enough to atract a manager of a higher quality (club reputation) </BLOCKQUOTE>
this is evidence that some people do stick up for the game way too much,
it is a known bug that is fixed in the beta patch,
tonkapvfc, i normally would treat an opinion with respect but i've never read so much crap, are you joking?????

These posts are just mind boggling, especially in the face of the numerous reports about confidence being an utterly broken new feature.
I mean surely defending the game where it punishes a player for performing *well* is on the other side of fanboyism...

Balls. It's completely unrealistic. Maybe at a massive club like Barcleona, you might win trophies and the board is still not happy with your playing style - but Bradford?
In real life they would be praying to him for more. Their finances will have shot up, crowds much bigger - if they get in the Premiership it could financially transform the club. At a club like Bradford you grab at that chance, you don't ask the manager to "slow down". Get a grip.
This problem has been identified by many people playing the game. If you think about the amount of hours people are putting in setting up tactics etc., only for this to happen then it ruins everything. Why take another job if the same thing is going to happen? It's not exactly an incentive is it?
Totally agree, mate. Why would Bradford want to 'slow down'? If I was them, I would be having the managers kids!

Clubs wait their entire existance for a manager if such calibre. The fans would rip the place apart if the manager got sacked for this reason.
Maybe this should be incorporated into future FM games. If the board sack a manager and the next one comes in and does awful, the fans should boycott, force a change of chairman etc. Brownie points should be given to the manager that was initially sacked even though he left. That would be true AI intelligence, not this joke.

Ok it could well be a bug, but there are SO many other factors. Firstly as has been said you haven't been sacked, they decided not to renew your contract.
A few questions as there are LOADS of factors that could make a board decide to do this
1. Have you expressed an interest in other jobs?
2. Have you been slating refeeres too often? (I once got a message from my board saying they wouldn't renew my contract if I kept getting in trouble with the FA!)
3. Are your players happy with you? Or are alot of them complaining?
4. What is the personality of the chairman?
So many factors could make this happen.
But of course there is that it may well be a bug, but SI won't be able to look into it if you don't upload a saved game.
