Default is it possible to have a real managerial career in fm08?

was going to start lower league ( open to suggestions on which club to take on ) and work my way up in the leagues. I know in previous fm editions it was hard to progress ie from oxford to liverpool. is fm09 better at this and suggestions on teams pretty please.
many thanks.

I can't really comment on what your situation will be, but after a successful season with the Blades, I've been linked with a number of Premiership vacancies - so I assume that career progression is OK.

Yeah it's possible but I guess you need a bit of luck like irl to work your way from the very bottom to the top. It's a good challenge though

p.s. How have you got a copy of FM2009 already?

yes of course either as one club or start at one club and move onto different clubs

You could look at lower league club with a decent bank balance

HOWEVER - I'd wait a few days so that you could start with the full patch due out this week...hopefully

I've done this with the last 4 or 5 versions of FM, in several different leagues. My big career in '07 was Lancaser to Swansea to RC Lens (France) to Arsenal over the course of 20 years. Not sure why you are saying it's so difficult to do. I did well earned promotions and new job offers, it seemed pretty natural.

I started a game as West Ham, got sacked just before Xmas. Got offered the Wolves job who were bottom of the Championship, saved them from relegation, next season after some shrewd signings, got automatic promotion to the Premiership as runners up.
Sven got the boot at Man City after finishing 4th from bottom, i applied and got offered the job, finished 4th in my first season and got offered the Liverpool job out of the blue, currently in my first season as Liverpool manager in January, currently unbeaten and 12 points clear at the top. Think i'll stay here for a while unless Barcelona offer me a job.

im finding you get linked to more clubs than you ver have done in any fm if anything, when you get some succes you do get rummored to take a new job and get offered contracts.

Ive took Bath City from the blue sqaure south to league one, over 7/8 seasons and along the way have been offered the qpr, norwich, wolves and watford jobs, have been rummored to be linked with prem jobs but that would be unrealistic for them to take a manager on below the championship. So yeah I think careers are very realistic, havnt took one of those jobs mined, gonna see how far I can take bath city, I think this is the limit, due to the stadium.

But I have anouther 2 years of my contract, and want to leave them in a good state, in a solid mid table position in the league. Leaving an era behind, then moving on

I have got Torquay up to league 1 in 3 years, im currently 2nd and hoping that i will jump the champoinship aswell. This one is slightly easier to do it than 07 in my opinion and i still have many years ahead...
