I've just thought of something else. Go into the manager elemnt you have a look at your list of manager history. Does it detail you qualified for euro football with the club you manage?

all I can suggest then is to log this on the FM2008 bugs thread and ftp a saved game to the si server for them to look at
Has the draw been made for the 1st round of the UEFA Cup?
If it has and you are not in it then it is a bug.
You should enter it at the 1st round stage, not even winning the UEFA Cup gives you a bye to the group stages.
