I noticed that I was gettign quite a few red cards, even though only one player was set to hard tackling. Players getting straight reds would be fined and I had a "20" for "Squad Discipline" in my profile. In the same season I was always on the refs' backs and managed to get a touchline ban. That got me wondering whether my own disciplinary record would rub off on the players. The next season I was much more diplomatic in my dealings with the media and my gut feeling is that I had less red and yellow cards. I've not gone back to check the stats, and there are obviously a lot more variables to consider, but I wondered if anyone else had noticed similar; ie that if a manager gets in a lot of trouble with the FA the players' discipline is also bad?

Is Your Own Discipline Reflected By Your Players? Post #2
I've had warnings from the Chairman about being too gobby to the media with regards to bad decisions, so have started to shut my trap.
I've now got a couple of players who think the manager should stick up for the players more. Never had it before in games where I've been more diplomatic, so I guess it's my own doing.
