I was more than a little dubious when the facegen feature was announced and perhaps even moreso with the first couple of screenshots that featured examples.

However, as a person who has always downloaded/installed as many graphics to enhance the game atmosphere, I was always a little saddened as all the real players aged and where replaced by faceless regens.

The faces are actually very impressive and have really improved the ambience of my long term games.

It is a cool feature, but I have mine turned off. I'm not bothered about the whole aging thing. And anyway, look at Michael Owen in real life, he still looks 20

something that is totally useless in such game, and makes profile loading take 5s + instead of instant. due generated face .. is clearly useless

Fair enough. Each to thier own.

It really depends though on how you enjoy these games though. I feel it adds realism. It is not a silly addition like the 'buy a house, take the wife out' nonsense we see in other games.

For those that already enjoy installing graphics (logos, facepacks, kits etc.) this is a positive addition, in my opinion.

I never used player faces in any pevious cm or fm titles. But with this one, i decided to get a few facepacks up, and with the facegen aswell i find its much better.

I also find myself only buying players with pictures or facegens.

I buy players regardless of whether they have a photo or a face gen!!! (But I do add my own photo when I sign 'em).

but look at rooney,he looks older than owen anyway, i think the facegen addition is really cool also.nice addition IMO.

I absolutely adore it. I usually play very long term games, going far enough into the future for most players to be regenerated, so it adds a lot off immersion and attachment to players who have been in my side. Just being able to see the players adds a real extra level to it once you've been with a club for a number of years.

Facegen would have been good if the rest of the game was good. But at the moment it just looks like a waste of time considering all the other problems inherent in the game.

It's really a feeble and superficial excuse for calling FM08 a significant upgrade over FM07.

Personally I think it's a fantastic addition and is far better than just seeing the blackened outline of a person.
