I know this has already been discussed before but i would like clarification from SI that when the official patch is released they will have sorted out the regen problem. In 2020 atm and having to quit the game because my man utd team consists of championship quality regens, and this is the same for every other team on the game, the standard has dropped over the seasons and players from all over the world get a star rating of no more than 3. On Large database with England, Argentina and Italy selected and wondering why i wasted so many hours of gameplay and now cant continue.
Funny post. Just buy best players you can find. A 150 CA is better in a world of 130 CA players than a 190 CA in a world of 180 CA players. So, where is the problem?
xouman has a point... if the whole game's standard has dropped (which I doubt) there shouldn't be no problem. I guess that your staff are under-valuing your youngsters because you have a good first team.
the problem is that, if the whole game's standard drops with regens being inferior to players originally in the database, you end up with a decade or so in which older players dominate, and all the major national teams are comprised of players 32 and older. if you want the game to be in any way realistic, this is a major annoyance.
in fully patched fm07, over time, there were more players with higher pa and ca, but this was countered by them having much of their potential seemingly wasted on stats that weren't needed, whilst lacking good stats in key areas.
i guess it will affect scout / coach reports when they say things like 'would make a good premiership/championship/league 1 player' - that wouldn't reflect the current standards.
I fully agree Kyle not sure why a consistent number of good quality regens havn't developed through the FM series. I think I remember it been alot better in the CM days.
In 10 years in my game teams are full of >30yo players and average squad age of every premiership and spanish la liga team is ~28, 29 years..
There are not to many good regens so teams keep buying 30y old players..
same thing is happening to me, its very frustrating after [utting so much time into the game to get t a point where Im buying players who wouldnt have got into the reserves in the beginning of my save game.

Thats because in the CM days when a player retired the exact same player was recreated as a youth player with a different name.
In FM you get a wholely new player being created, meaning that each game is completely different from the previous.

But they should try and keep the same standard of players overall..It is crazy when Barcelona are playing with players that would not be good even for second division an the start of the game
