hi im having a lot of problems with the ai in fm2008. i have tried that many different tactics and formations now that i cant get any to work. i think the ai has figured out all of my tactics to the point that i am trying to do a clean reinstall. i have uninstalled the game and the sports interactive files from documents and have searched the entire hard drive for more but it says there are no more. and yet unbelievably when i reinstall the game again it somehow manages to remember me from my last profile used. can anyone help me to get rid of all the files which i believe will contain the ai engine so that i can play and enjoy the game again. it is not the tactics im using as i have downloaded numerous tactics which have worked for others but not me. i belive i have tried so many tactics in search of the perfect tactic but the ai have figured how to play against them. please help . i want to do a clean reinstallation and please dont direct me to the link for fm2007. any help is appreciated

Have you deleted the folder which is in 'my documents'?

I would boot up in safe mode, before that, download a program called 'advanced windows care' here http://www.iobit.com/AWC2ProOnePage.html

its free program and good for cleaning crap of your pc, id run that in safe mode.

Bit strange though as it only installs in the 'c drive/programs' and in 'my documents' ive unistalled the game andim on Vista aswell but it never picks out my old profile, i have to start again

i have deleted from my documents but when i reinstall game in remembers my old profile. i have used a tactic for my first 2 seasons only losing 5 games in both years. then bam. i have lost 7 of my first 10 the next year. im sorry but a brilliant tactic doesnt become crap over the course of pre season. like i say i tinkered to try to get the perfect tactic and now none of my tactics work. it knows how to beat me. i think there are files installed on the pc where i cant find them. i may be being a bit cynical in my battle with the ai but it wont beat me. it is there somewhere in my pc and i will not stop till i find it. lol again if anyone can help me do a clean reinstall.

have you tried deleting the registry entries for the FM installation? (does that apply to Vista, I don't know)

I use a program called "Your Uninstaller" to do thorough uninstalls, its pretty good.

Uninstall the programm as normal.

Remove any remaining SI folders (these are typically located at the install directory, My Documents > Sports Interactive, and there is also a shared folder which goes in Documents & Settings -> All Users -> Application Data -> Sports Interactive).

Then run 'regedit' and from local user/local machine Software subfolder remove the Sports Interactive entries.

Reboot, and your machine will be cleaned ready for reinstall.

hi again. i just tried "your uninstaller" and then tried again and i load the game and start new game and all my previous leagues were already ticked then i went to profile and there i was again. everything as it was in my previous game. please help someone as its driving me crazy!!!!!! how is it remembering who i am

yeah i think it is too. i would love someone from si to tell me where these files are installed on the pc. i have tried about 10 times to uninstall this game "completely" as like i said earlier it is useless cos i have tried that many tactics the ai knows how to play them. reinstall and its exactly the same. knows my profile and the leagues i want to play. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read my above post, that tells you how to delete everything. Follow that and you won't have a problem.
