Does anyone else think that FM over rates Michael Owen??
I'm not saying he's a bad player, but I think the game over rates the ability of a player who has never scored 20 league goals in any of his 11 seasons.
I'm nearly half way into my 3rd season at he has scored (league):
2007-08 App 37, Gls 20
2008-09 App 35, Gls 23
2009-10 App 12, Gls 10
Also, he is considered to be a consistent perfomer, but from memmory of his time at Liverpool he'd go through purple patches, scoring something like 10 in 6 games, then chip in with 6or7 goals in the rest of the season.

Slightly pedantic, but he's scored 19 twice. I don't think he's over-rated - when he's fit he scores goals. Unfortunately, he's not fit for very long these days.
he set record after record coming through the rank sat liverpool, demolishing everything robbie fowler did iirc...the biggest problem was keeping him fit. and ALL strikers go through purple patches and barren streaks, there isnt ONE that scores week in week out. ok, maybe "dixie" dean did, but that was years ago... (the only player to average more goals than games in a career)

Indeed another point.... He doesn't seem to get injured in the game.... </BLOCKQUOTE>
I'm guessing his injury proneness hidden stat will be very high. There's not really much more they can do. Perhaps players with high injury proneness should pick up more niggly injuries.
Im just over half way through my 3rd season with Newcastle and Owen hasn't been playing to badly but more shockingly hasn't been injured for longer than a week or 2 at most.
