What's the point in having the ultimatum and Appeal functions?
As the title describes
Why are these functions in football manager?
You never succeed with an ultimatum (I was Chelsea, won the league 3 years running and Champions league for the second successive year. Asked for stadium expansion, they said no, gave ultiamtum, got sacked.)
I have been playing this game since the very first one and an ultimatum has never worked.
Hence, what's the point in it being in the game
Also, the appeal function.
Appeals happen a lot in football these days.
Quite a lot are successful. But FM 07. Oh no.
Every single one gets rejected.
Just not realistic at all
If they are to reject the appeals, then why not increase the punishment like which happens in real life

Just because they've never worked for you, doesn't mean they never work at all. But it is incredibly rare for them to work, that's true. That's how it should be. How many employers will accept their employees dictating to them?

No they don't

Sometimes they do.

I like the masses are awaiting the patch before begining any serious game of FM2008. However I am not complaining about it and wan't them to do it properly before releasing, anyhow back on topic, I played FM2007 as a serious career starting with Montrose in Scots Div 3, I had them promoted to Div 1 within 5 seasons and was then luck enough to gety the Aberdeen job (my favorite Club). It took me 2 years to get rid of all the dead wood and assemble a half decent team. But on my 3rd season I won the Don's 1st trophy in 15+ years albeit only the League Cup, the following few seasons seen me finish 3 2 2 1 2 1 3 in the league and a few decent runs in The Uefa Cup and Champs League (I won the UEFA and got semi's of Chmap's) during my last 3 years I found that the Ultimatum did work quite well, I was forever asking for the youth facilties and Stadium to be upgraded, more often than not the agreed but when they never i issued said ultimatum and they either agreed or said something along the lines of "due to the success you have brough the club we are prepared to overlook your ultimatum on this occassion" When this happened as I was a Club favourite and my reputation was Continental, I would get news reports saying the fans were behind me and agreed that improvements were needed for the club to move forward.
My point ? as other have said these feature DO work but only rarely and this is what in my opinion makes the game realistic, Fergie and Wenger run thir clubs with iron rods and tend to get what they ask for whereas someone like Mourinho although very succesful he could not dictate to his board so why shoud you after only 3 seasons ?, build your reputation, show your loyalty and then try it.....
