Default FM 08 vs FM 07

I have FM08 , but after problems with big load of bugs, I consider exhanging him for FM 07. It is good trade or bad ? Have FM08 bright future in these dark days ?

Keep FM08, and download the latest "beta" patch it does resolve a lot of the buggier features in the game, there is a full patch supposedly not too far away, so yeah I'd say keep FM08, it is imo, a better game than FM07.

The latest "beta" patch can be found here.

The finished patch should be out any day now. My advice would be to at least wait and see.

FM2007 is amazing, the best till then, as far as I 'm concerned. But I can see the new one becoming better when all essential patching happens. Mostly because the match engine* seems much more responsive to my orders now.

*although it still needs some fixes, especially closing down, offsides and crosses)

If you have FM08 then might as well wait for the patch. However, if the bugs aren't fix and you find it slow and a bit unrealistic, switch to the near-perfect FM07 - should be going cheap these days.

I like the way you refer to FM08 as 'him'.

Im continuing my FM07 game until FM08 has been patched with the some of the 'show stopping' bugs removed. (such as dodgy morale etc.)

In my opinion though, FM08 has a very bright future because in my mind, its going to be the last FM I buy but also is because its an evolution of FM07 but one major thing has been done to the game...and thats the fact that its quicker to save and load plus quicker to process fixtures. Which in effect means that in a way, it hearkens back to earlier Championship Managers where you could get a load of games 'in the bag' before you quit for the night.

One thing I do dislike and thats the match day experience where you have to continually pause the game if you dont want 'the match day experience'. but no doubt i'l get used to that.

The problem is, many people compare a fully patched version of FM07 to a version of FM08 that has had no official patches released yet.

FM07 had some pretty bad bugs in it's release, such an imbalance in development for FREDS which would see their Mental attributes sky rocket, but their technical attributes barely increase at all, making long term games unthinkable. There was issues regarding training and how attributes were rounded meaning that it seemed that players never improved. There was a large number of oddities in the match engine, much more then there is now, and there was of course the Rooney bug.

When fully patched, I think there is every chance that FM08 will be the best version of FM to date, so seeing as you already have the game, if I was you, I would wait rather then spending money on another game.

I prefer the set up of and general gameplay of fm 2007 compared to 08 . But after youve played 07 for a bit you know who all the best players are, bargains etc... So I was wondering ... is it possible to apply the player, team , staff , league data from Fm 08 to Fm 07 .Then I could have a new data set , but on Fm 07.
Is it possible to make hybrid game from the two versions. Any one ever tried this ? Is it possible ?
