And how are you finding it with player performance? any problems or strengths?
I ask because I've had problems getting top class strikers to perform despite giving them quality creativity width variety different tempo's and passing and so on...
i use the same but with a flat back 3 and with the wingbacks running upto the amr/aml position and it works well with me i think the best thing to do with this tactic is find quality wingbacks with high stamina
I've tried the tactics forum without any luck- came to the conclusion that not many people use it..
stamina eh?
and how do you find the performance of the strikers, goalscoring and rating-wise and the overall performance of the team?
I find that I can't (RARELY) lose, but i have incredible problems scoring despite playing an intensely attacking lineup/strategy- i just can't get top class strikers off a 6 (it's especially accentuated when i'm in poor form...).

Have you tried dumbing down the attacking mentality of your forward players? Could relax them so to speak.
I use a 3-5-2 Wingback formation in my England save, qualified for Euro 2008 top of the table with a game to go and then beat Croatia 5-2.
I use Micah Richards and Ashley Cole as my wingbacks, they work wonders. Beckham, Gerrard and Joe Cole as my centre 3. Ferdinand, Terry and Campbell as my centre-back 3. Crouch and a fast striker up front. It's really lovely to watch.

i really feel like i've tried absolutely everything and am looking for examples of somebody who has used this formation and had success with strikers because after the failure of drogba totti owen aguero shevchenko with creative and wide teams behind them i'm beginning to think it's either the midfielders shooting issue or just a wider match engine dislike of the formation...
Suzie MUFC and the other guy seem to thnk stamina is the main attribute but it's not really my wingbacks that are underperforming- i had a re-trained mancini there at roma challenging for player of the year- i just can't get any striker other than Kalou of a 6:>
I've played the following formation for all versions of FM for the last 4 years..
Gk
DC DC DC
WBR WBL
MC MC
AMC
ST ST
Tick is to have a fantazista (the magical number 10) playing AMC and have 1 MC completely defensive and 1 MC attacking and defending equally. Also have 2 DC's man marking and the middle DC just zonal marking.
Right now I'm playing the same formation as raging bull, although I've tried it as a 5-2-3 (that's what the computer calls it, but it's really a 3-2-2-3) as well, with three strikers up front. I've been using it since 06 and it works for all kinds of teams. So use it with confidence.
Sounds like you're using Chelsea, so it's not the players. I'd take this back to the Tactics forum and resubmit. But don't frame it as a formation problem, since it is probably a problem with your tactical instructions (specifically, for the strikers) rather than your formation. This is a 'Why can't my strikers score and dominate?' problem, which lots more people can help with, rather than a 'Does this formation work?' problem.
I'd recommend asking in one of the all-purpose threads too, like rashidi's, instead of starting your own. The catch-all threads get much more traffic and the others tend to die quickly. Tell them the problem (can't score, or can't get good ratings?) and give them plenty of detailed info about your tactical settings to work with. They can't offer good advice if you don't tell them specifically how you've done your settings. (Ideally you can link to a screen capture of the settings to imageshack and let people see them for themselves.) And since the problem may be poor service, or too much space between your midfield and strikers (preventing them from linking properly) you should probably let them know about your midfield settings as well. Also let them know it's Chelsea, so they don't say it's your players.
Knowing nothing about your settings, the first thing I'd suggest is upping the creativity for your strikers to 15 or so. Good upfront players tend to do well when you give them freedom to find space to move into.
