Sorry if you felt I dismissed your claims, I hope this details how I see it....which of course is not necessarily correct but at least an opinion for us to debate

NP mate, I see what you mean When does something that needs tweaking become a bug?

Either way, it's one of those things that could really spoil the game for a player. You've dragged your small club through the eearly rounds of a cup and got a dream tie against a much bigger club and through your own tactical nous you get a creditable performance, yet your board and fans' rating of you drops... It doesn't make the game unplayable, but it could really take the pleasure out of it and I can see why people would wait for the patch to come out before playing FM08 (in fact, it's reports like the OP's that are making me wait for the patch before dropping my FM07 save).

A required tweak for me is an annoyance, a bug something which could make the game unplayable, or unbearable e.g. manager's getting sacked due to supporter feeling of not winning games where an expectation has been set too high. I've not seen people saying they are getting sacked because of this.

However if you cgeck our the new patch thread. Paul Collyer advised Monday around 23.45 that the patch testing went well but a few things spooted which required tweaking and if not done could be regarded as annoyances.....perhaps it is this type of problem they are looking at?

Here is hoping for this tweak to be included in the things fixed list

(sorry still after 4 years cant work out how to do the quote thing)

Mr Pompey - Hey no worries. I didnt feel that you were being dismissive.

I think a tweak is needed (totally agree!)

Nice to read a post without it mentioning "wheres the patch"....

Personally I would lock the "all the new patch thread" as it causes more problems than ever and is never constructive....

How to do a quote..... in the top right of the post you want to quote select the middle icon (folder with quote in it)

then.....

make sure you type below the quoted post else you could end up posting in the middle of the quote

I lost 2-1 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup 3rd round with Burnley and didn't hear the end of how they and the fans were disappointed in every monthly summary.

yes, thats the problem with both early cup exits and defeats of any kind, even when the odds are against you. its a great feature generally but it could use some tweaking, a giving the board a sense of perspective would be nice. just been promoted to the prem so I'm expecting a constant earful about defeats and player form.

Actually, it's a bit annoying i think. Playing with Leeds, got promoted to Championship, and lost to Chelski in the finals of the FA cup(got lucky each time with injuries to my opponents and a ridiculously easy draw). I lost 2-1 to chelski, and my fans are outraged, lol, i mean, dude, wtf, we're a Championship team, and while i know Chelsea are one of my rivalry clubs, realistically, no one in their right mind would criticize that, yet, when i got blown out 4-0 to inter in a friendly, my fans were, whats the word, pleased by the way we played against superior competition.

Odd
