Is FM worth buying right now?

without a doubt buy it, take a few weeks off work and get stuck in, i havent found any problems with 08 so far and i bought it the day it was released

Yes, definitely. The patch is due out tomorrow at some point so there's no reason not to.

I didn't buy it for years.

It wasn't that bad and I really liked some features: 3D Engine, the stadium builder and other stuff.

But it was always buggy as hell (and show-stoppers !). That's why I gave up buying it.

or you can patch it and then it wont be 'bug ridden'.

IMO you won't be able to play anything serious enough with this bug (unless you're planning on doing highreputation teams only, where you can't overachieve expectations), then you can buy it. Otherwise wait for the patch.

The main problem with being here in the States and wanting games like these is that you can usually onyl get them online and no Gamestops of EBGames will take games not bought in the US.

Wait. Just like 07, the game was released with many major bugs. It will take a patch or three before they are ironed out. If you buy the game and have a showstopper bug, it will ruin your career and make you feel cheated. Wait until the first patch is released and read the comments after it's out, it might be worth waiting for another patch after the first.

long story short around 65% said it wsa good value but a very large amount of the yes's werent happy and wanted the patch.

my advice, wait a few days and come back in here after the patch and browse the threads.
