They're normally the sh*t from the sh*tty ground though.
Why can't we all just get along?

I've played almost a season with Forest.

I didn't buy many players. I picked up David Thompson on a free and Peggy Lokando (legend from Southend) for about 30k. I then picked up Duffy from Pompey on loan, along with Luke Steele from WBA on loan, and a couple of others to bolster the squad. I spent most of my transfer funds on pinching better coaches from other clubs.

I also bought Dado Prso for free although he was unavailable (not sure why) until the New Year.

I offloaded Breckin and Dobie. Agogo left during the January transfer window. A lot of clubs are interested in other players but I've said no.

I was offered an Irish club as a feeder club, but opted for Tamworth instead. They're doing quite well, and a few of my players (Sinclair, Brown, Bastians and Maloney are all doing well for them)!

I also haven't been impressed with Aaron Davies. I've tried playing him on the right wing but his average ratings have been quite poor. On the other hand, Grant Holt, Wilson, Chambers and Tyson have all been excellent.

I'm first with about 14 games left. I've lost a few at home though which is very frustrating. I lost 3-2 to Arsenal at the Emirates in the FA Cup that generated a huge amount of much needed cash! I've stopped playing now and will start again when the new patch comes out.

I had Kalle Ljungberg on a previous version. He was class.

I almost became a Forest fan when i first got into football based on the name. Then i also discovered Crystal Palace, so the tiebreaker was the home kit. No way was i paying £30 for a plain red shirt with a minimalist logo on it, so i went for Palace. This was over ten years ago now.

AndyPass:

Do you hold out for the best offfer for Breckin and Dobie or do you just get shot of them!!! I can't stand them.

I'm also finding Davies and Cohen very annoying. Davies because he is rubbish and Cohen because he wants to go to Fulham but Fulham won't offer more than 200,000.
On the bright side Slepicka has scored 31 from 33 and we're eight points clear in the league.

I'm sure they used to be called "The Reds" back in the 80s. Maybe not but it said that in the old Panini™ sticker books.

tip with forest - wait for the season tickets to all sell, then request a transfer budget increase - BANG 2million to spend

Hi Jed

I just get rid of them - especially Dobie as I think he's on 5k a week! I think I sold Dobie for 50k and Breckin for 150k. Chambers, Wilson and Morgan are better centre halfs imo. Plus you may as well try to give the younger players plenty of game time to boost their experience in League One. There's no point blooding them in the Championship.

I noticed on my game that Lennon is on 10k a week. My whole wage budget is only 63k. I think he might have to go. Don't really need him with McGugan and Perch.

I think when the patch comes out I might sell Davies in the Jan transfer window if he's still carp. I've carried on playing my game for a few more games and he doesn't seem to get any better.

I had no problems with Cohen. He tended to play very well and be consistent. Plenty of clubs are interested in him, but no-ones made an offer. I'm sure his value will increase greatly when you get promotoed so I'd try and hold out.

I'll check out Slepicka. Although I found that Tyson and Holt scored plenty, and David Thompson weighed in with a few from midfield.

As for the budget increase Halfpipe, I've never tried that. I don't tend to make many requests until after the first season. With Forest you tend to walk a bit of a tightrope for the first season until you get promoted and it's not a good idea to upset the board. I'll give it a bash though.

I sold Lennon straight away. In real life I was slightly annoyed as it is hardly building for the future, more like a sellotape job. I brought in Seyfo Soley on a free. he's not a classy player by any means, but he's excellent back-up for Perch. I also sold Tyson as, in my experience from FM07, he's always injured. i used Holt at first but he doesn't really fit my system now. I don't use a target man. I bought Damon Gray from Hibs, as one for the future. He scored 20 goals in 13 games in the reserves, so I've used him as back up for Slepicka. Thirteen points clear in February and quarter finals of the FA cup (possibly semi-finals if I can get past Watford), in final of Johnstone's paint as well

I signed Malcolm Christie and Steve Marlet on a free in my game, they helped take forest to the championship. When there I managed to sign Le Tallec also on a free and we came 3 points off the playoff places thanks to Ilfil on loan and Miki Roque and Jack Hobbs also on loan as centre backs.

Now I have some transfer funds (3m I think) I am looking to replace a fair few players.
