Does anyone else feel FM08 is much easier than previous incarnations?

I always play as Portsmouth, and admittedly they have a much better team and better finances this year, but even so I got relegated a couple of times in FM06 and never won the premier league and it took until 2018 for me to win the league in FM07.

Now admittedly I 'cheated' a little by reading up on hot players, and bought Lulinha, Alex and Aaritalo on the cheap (as well as paying £10mill+ each for Ochoa, Luisao, Wendel and Chevanton) but in my first season I finished as runner up and in my second season won the premiership and got to the semis of the champions league.

So, after winning the premier league I resigned, and have just taken over as manager of the mighty Eastleigh. Hopefully this will prove to be a bigger challenge as to be honest I would not expect to have done so well so quickly with Pompey and it's kinda soured my opinion of FM08 with the ease that I won the league...

Anyone else think it seems just a bit to easy, or is it just Pompey's real-life fortunes that have made it this way?

I don't feel the same.

I am playing with Liverpool and win Chelsea 3:0, Everton 5:0 and after that I lost heavily at home from Bolton. I didn't even had a chance to score.

This game is not balanced and that is the most important aspect of any game, to be balanced.

No. I think it's fractionally harder. Depends who you start with, obviously but I'm struggling so far.

portsmouth do have a better team now and a bit of cash so dont think you would every get relageted if you can play the game a bit add to that you bought 7 new and good players a couple who are very good players,Also with the likes of utaka in the squad who scores for fun sounds about right.Maybe try with portsmouth without buying the wonder kids etc will be alittle more of a challenge to win the league.

I think it would be easy if you had the money and the knowledge of all the cheap great players!! That goes without saying!!

Especially as with Pompey you have a lot of room to improve the team and the money to do so!

Try getting promoted from League 2 and not having a pot to p*ss in to try and stay in League 1!! I've sold my best 2 players for 800k total but can't replace them coz no one wants to join my side! I've conceded 14 goals in the first 3 games!! It's far from easy!!

I find it harder but its great because its even more of a challenge! can be annoying struggling through the seasons im in that position a fair bit which says alot of my managing skills! lol above all i wish i had the courage to go to north/south simply because you have to rely on youngsters coming through and that is what i love about this game the depth and realism involved when moulding a former non league side into something good and maybe making league football proper! It would be a boring game if there wasnt a challenge but SI could have added a difficulty level maybe but that mucks up the idea of "realism" so best to leave it as it is!
