I am having trouble installing th beta patch to get past the 5ft Dec '09 bug, when I say trouble, it just wont install.
It runs through the updates fine and then I load the game up and its still version 8.0.0x
I don't have the game running when I begin installation of the patch, I don't have any extra skins or anything like that.
The only possible thing I can think of is that I've had to download a no cd crack after my own cd was stolen (que warez accusations!) and that maybe reverting back to the old data. I can't see how this could be the case however as surely the crack only replaces the .exe file and once the other files are updated it should refer to them?

Firstly you'll probably get banned for admitting to using a no-cd crack if one of the mods reads this post. Try purchasing another copy of the disk to see if the problems persist.
Secondly your problems could be because your using a crack. They made the game to certain things as part of the copy protection that they use.
