Sorry if this has been suggested before.

Just a thought, but instead of going for a brand new FM09 next year, and all the grief that entails (judging by the forums, warranted or not) maybe SI could think about releasing an upgrade to 08 with most of the wouldn't-it-be-nice-if suggestions and a new data patch? Assuming that, by then, the game is basically stable and 99% of the punters are happy with it, of course.

That might give them (and us) a break from the annual moan-fest (again, warranted or not) that always accompanies a new FM release, and free up some developers for FMLive which, I'm guessing by then, will need them more.

I'd pay a tenner for it! Probably...

Some would argue that this is what we get anyway!

Seriously though, a lot of the code is the same from one version to another, it's not a complete rewrite every year.

The last complete rewrite was for CM4.

A suggestion for next year- please don't release the *****ing game without a bloody patch. this will be the best advice SI can learn from these forums.

Yes, very true. Not a lot of "WOW" factor since the first 2d match engine... but, if that's the case then why, oh why, oh why...

Nope, I'm not going there! This should be a happy day!

I agree that this is what we get, it's just a newer updated for the most part better version of the previous year, not a whole new game, which is fine by me.
Im planning on buying FM09 SO Id rather they work solely on it after they release the patch since im not planning on getting fm08 but that's just me.

How do you know the code remains the same?

My wish list:

•Improved training management

I want to have detailed training schemes on a daily basis

•Improved scout facilities

More scouts and something which is workable

•Training camps and short separations

Why not? Easy to implement.

•Improved psychology

Obvious, no?

•Improved (direct) communication with the player and staff

Related with psychology

•Stadium Building

It was already in other managers ten years ago!

•Improved Financial stuff

Setting prices for:

oTickets, divided by the home and away spectator side
oSeason tickets
oMerchandise (just an option with low-, medium- and high prices)

Most companies are working with budgets for all compartments.

We have now since FM2008 two choices: salaries and transfers.

Why not for more departments, like:

oBuilding and constructing
oMedical department (you should be able to have your own Milan Lab)
oPublicity, Marketing & PR
oLoans (to pay more/less back to the bank and to demand fresh loans)

Why can’t we payback loans faster as well?

I would like to see, that clubs that are financial a disaster would lose their license and be punished with relegations. In many countries it works like that.

Please give examples of what you want to see. Just saying 'improved' means nothing.

None of this is part of a football manager's job. Therefore it won't be in the game.
