Ok Ok, So i'm playing newly promoted Preston away and take a 2-0 lead. I hold this lead till around the 85th minute when I change things around (I had started shutting down the game earlier but this was the final part). I forgot that the AI normally swtiches to a 4-2-4 formation so I thought "I'll just wait for these tactics to come into effect then I'll go back in and change for the 4-2-4 formation) Did it change back? NO! from the 85th to the end of the game I could not go back into my tactics as it was waiting for a break in play. Not only did they score in the 90th minute they also went on to get a penalty in 93min 57sec when there was only suppost to be 3minutes of extra time!!!!
Needles to say the game is back in the box.
Anyone else had problems like this?

Time taken for tactics to come into effect Post #2
Yes, the time taken for tactics changes can take anywhere between 1-10 minutes from my experience.
I have also conceded goals during this time, especially when I've gone 1-0 up in a very tight game. As soon as the goal is scored I tried to change tactics only for them to score straight away before the new tactics have come into effect.
A nice idea to have the running tactical changes, but it has been poorly implemented.

I completely agree - I was going to post a thread on this, but I keep forgetting to look how long the tactics actually take to process. I find that Subs seem to take even longer. Very frustrating.

This is what gets my goat, too.
I'll bring in, say, a DR to replace my DM, moving my current DR to DM. The guys switch positions before the sub is made, and are playing out of position for a gew minutes until the sub happens.

It doesnt help that for some reason when the computer is winning the time seems to run down really fast wer as when you are losing it goes about as fast as an asthmatic ant carrying lots of shopping!

This is realistic though sometimes players do wait a good 5 mins before they can get on and SSGTroyer why dont you wait till you make the sub then change there positions like in real life,I mean you wouldnt see SAL putting scholes to left back before he brought on evra.

It should happen simultaneously. If I waited 'till after the sub to do the switch, I'd have the same problem, just that now it would be my fault instead of the game's. Two playerrs out of position for a few minutes until my yelling voice is heard and acknowleged on the pitch. "Hey, I didn't mean to put you in the same place as the guy I subbed you for! Switch places with him!"
