30 million pounds ? that's like 60 million USD. Come on, be serious, what club would spend THAT much for a player based in central-eastern Europe ?

Show me one player based in Croatia, Ukraine, Serbia, Albania, Macedonia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Belarus and so on, that left his country for a sum higher than USD 15 million.

maybe some club would pay that hillarious sum of money for him, if he would play in one of the western leagues (Spain, italy, england, france, germany and so on..)

You are not informed enough my friend. Several years ago Igor Bišćan has arriwed to Liverpool from Dinamo Zagreb for 20m. There are many players here who change their clubs for similar money.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chivu

Romania, 18 million Euro's & 16 million Euro's

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrian_Mutu

Romania, 22 million Euro's.

Kezman was also £7 million (not entirely 15million USD)

So yeah, there ARE players from the Eastern Bloc who are the result of big money transfers.

Modric is pure class and will probably create trouble for England tonight, and if you haven't heard of him yet, that's kinda odd as he's been a decent player for croatia.
But in no way is he worth £30m. I would agree to closer to £20m though. But £30m is pushing it too far.

Of course it's still a huge risk and I doubt we will see anyone buy him for more than 15m.
When have Arsenal ever spend that kind of money on any player??

£20m on Reyes?

i am interested to watch him tonight. hopefully croatia will come to win the game and we can see some decent football played at some pace.

otherwise it will be like most england games, dull. england trying to keep the ball whilst going nowhere and then breaking up the play with fouls when they lose the ball.

we have a fair amount of potential with the players we have, but we limit ourselves with tactics, and there is little movement off the ball. just go out there and express yourselves and entertain. end of.
