I'd like to post my new website, but more than anything, I'd like to thank PSG for their excellent tutorials and help -- they've been a great help, as you'll be able to see! 8D
The site is focused on a game coming out calles "Age of Empires III."
It would seem that for half the people in the world, it looks incredible. Of the half who hate it, most of the problem is due to the fact that the colours used are by no means web-safe, and the page looks drastically different on different computers -- going form nice and warm to blinding and unreadable. And for those who see it as it was created, and still don't like it, they just have no taste! 8D
There's no way that you know of to make it more standardized across computers, is there?
A of E -- for consistant colors you can set your color pallette to "Web Safe Colors" .
In general, I think its not the color that bothers people, its how much is used. Its a nice color but usually thought of as an Accent color - not a total Background and Foreground color.
A good rule of thumb in web design is to use nutrals for background color. For example light tan, light grey, light blue, slight off white. and use accent color sparingly. Mark (the Keeper) is about the best web designer around. If you will notice here, Mark has used colors are all subued with a small touch of maroon for accent and of course a nice colorful graphic.
Try these suggestions when you are redesigning and I am sure everyone will love your site!
