Default Distoring help

i saw this image on the web and had never tried this kind of manipulation before so gave it a shot. It's so simple, right?

No problem knocking out the bldg and leaving plenty of foreground image. Also no problem putting a frame around the foreground. From that point i thought that just selecting Edit - Transform - Distort to adjust the border was all I would need to do. Wrong!

Can one of you guru's help me with the simple adjustment of bending the border slightly so it looks like a paper print sloping forward? When you hang a piece of paper over the edge of a table for example it gently bends down from the weight of the paper. I just realized I don't know how to create that effect. The distort tool just bends the edges of the "frame" and keeps the edges straight.

Thanks.

I don't think that you can bend using the distort tool. I would go for the pen tool to create a selection with the correct "bend". But on the other hand, I am no guru

Moltas is right, it's the Pen tool you wanna use here Lee.
I'm noticing though that your example photo doesn't actually have a visible bend in it. But in case you do want one, i explain this below.

Just create the border either with the Vector Shape tools or the plain ol' Pen tool. Too get the gental bending effect just add a very faint Linear grad to the frame shape, making the majority of it a very faint grey. The very front tip will then be white.

Here's an example.
The shape of the bend is made with the Pen tools. The frame itself i made using the Vector Shape tools; i used the 'Subtract' function to remove the middle of a square, with a smaller square.
I then used the Pen tools (convert point tool) to add bezier handles to the bottom center points, making only a slight bend in the path.

Thanks Moltas and Mark. You're correct, the image I posted did not have a bend in it but I wanted to take it to the next level of realism. I will give the pen tool a try.

Thanks for the example, Mark. I appreciate that, buddy. Unfortunately, I don't know how to use the Vector Shape tool. Being self taught through the ever popular trial and error method of PS there are some areas of the program I don't know how to use yet. Using Photoshop primely for photography, I have not gotten into any of the graphics areas of PS yet as I have no need for them. I see I'd better start now, though, as this above image would require that skill. Any tuts you know of that I might look at?

Thanks again, guys
