Hey all,

Is it possible to sign "unrealistic targets" ? Or is it only possible to sign players that occur on your list with "ask assistant to filter unrealistic targets" ticked on ?

It is possible to sign unrealistic targets. The players filtered out is just who your a.man. believes to be unrealistic and the a.man. in this game has been known to do a misstake now and then. If your after loaning a player the filter is completly useless.

What are the indicators then? I cannot sign great players (= well known IRL) at all. I've won five consecutive championships, been in the semis of the UEFA cup, and three times past the group stages in the Champpions cup. Im 23rd on the club rankign list, and been allowed to buy players like Eto'o, Thiago Motta, Gudjohnsson, Deco, Sneijder and so on. I'm managing Brøndby, and every single (of the mentions players and og that calibre) player say somthing like " a move to a danish club would not be a good career move" I'm allowed to pay up til 39.000 Euro/week

well, i've found it hard to sign a couple of 'realistic' targets who don't want to even discuss contract, which is irritating as usually they are the few players with a scout report better than 'good', so i reckon chances of signing 'unrealistic targets' are slim.

I remember the days when there was a "players interested in joining" filter!! Would come in handy during LLM!!

I have signed a couple of players filtered out by my assistant. Not sure what the factors to look at is though. When loaning players I never use the filter and I'm getting by very well without it.

i think the most unrealistic players in the game to buy is David Beckham, he wont go to any club on the game

Ok (at LLM level anyway) it is based on the reputation of your club, the manager (i.e. you) reputation, the reputation of the player in his world/his homeland, the reputation of the club/squad they currently play for and the reputation of your nation compared with the nation the player comes from.

So for example a lower league club is unlikely to attract players of higher quality from leagues of a similar ilk or better i.e. if you are playing in England you are not likely to attract from Italy, Spain etc. However you are more likely to sign players from so-called lesser nations such as Bulgaria, Poland, Serbia, most of Africa and so on.

The AM does get it wrong, usually quite frequently too. However you do need some way of filtering the players! Conversely your AM will sometimes pull a right rabbit out of the hat that goes right against this; I remember a skilful DL/AML from South Africa of Championship quality being listed (and subsequently bought) when I was managing Altrincham.

I found most of this out when playing LLM in Wales - no-one ones to play in Wales but there's gold to be had searching some Eastern European nations and their players.
