Default The match engine is a joke.

I just got my copy of FM08 and I'm pleased to note that SI has continued its tradition of putting out for sale blatently half finished games with this one. And the following event happens in my VERY FIRST GAME. Not a great first impression...

Alright, I am playing a friendly with Lyngby of the Norweigen premier league against my feeder team, when they win a free kick. Sadly, their far-side winger was COMPLETELY unmarked on the edge of the box (anyone noticed how SI still haven't fixed that yet either?), and as the ball came over my keeper was outjumped by their 5ft 4 fast striker, and it fell to said unmarked player, 5 yards out. Open goal. No player anywhere near him. So what does he do? Runs towards the net with the ball, STOPS with the ball within inches of the line, turns round, dribbles ALONG the goal line, and then blasts it out for a throw-in.

And before the SI fanboys slate me as another 'the game hates me' wacko, let me remind you that it happened IN MY FAVOUR. In its current state, FM08 doesn't deserve its space on my hard drive. So for now, it shall join my vast array of free AOL CDs in my growing collection of drinks coasters.

So because something which happens one in a million has happened in a pre-season game you wont ever play it again ?
