Sorry I have tried searching but I haven't found a good answer to this.
I find myself constantly resting players after matches as my club plays 2 games per week on average, and I have a small squad due to a lack of salary/transfer funds. Is it considered a bad thing to do to rest my better players all the time and take away from their training time? Should I be letting them train and using more of a rotation based policy?
By resting them I can usually have them available for almost every game, but they rarely even train. I am using a League 1 team so most guys have low stamina and natural fitness levels and most are fairly young players.
Also, do you rest your players a lot, and would you rather rest them for match action rather than let them train? (I know it depends on the player and situation but just looking for a general opinion)
Rest them after every match and if you have 4/5 day breack or more between macthes give then a day off as well. If you have 14 days of, I would make sure the players rested for at least 3 of the days
To clarify I am resting my players every day between matches. Not just a one day rest if I want them to be ready for my next match they need to rest every day until matchday (3-4 days).
If I have a 6-7 break then they will rest for a couple and then train. But with my schedule having 2 games/week they almost never train.
I'm resting my players now and then. If I see a lack in fitness in between games I give them a couple of days rest. Sofar they have managed to play out the full season, with not all too many injuries and no jades players.
I would appreciate if you could set the rest periods in advance so that you could set them whenever you have some time off games without having to remember it all the time.
