I have just started a new game after installing the patch. I have taken over Leeds, can anyone tell me why I can't appoint Rui Marques as the club captain? His name doesn't appear in the list nor in the v-c list, very strange.

the list only fits a certain number of players. I agree it's annoying - I think though if you dump a lot of guys from the first team squad into the reserves, then the list is repopulated and marques may be there for you. no promises though!

He may have elected to not be in the running for when you choose. As in he does not want to be captain, nor considered to be.

On mine, for a different team, it said on the news item screen that player X had excluded himself for the running.
