The file has no effect on RAM. Do you mean hard disk space?

well virtual memory i think it was called it keeps popping up in a bubble in the bottom right of my screen

Virtual memory should be linked to free space on you C drive so you probably are abit low on space.

Uninstall stuff your not using, empty the trashcan and such. If you got more than one partition on your computer and got more space on another one you can always move some stuff over or set your computer to take the virtual memory from that partition.
