I've been managing Ecjia (Spanish second division B4) now for half a year and in those six months we have lost almost £200,000! For a small team - thats not that great is it? I have weighed up options and it seems nothing will help.
I am third in the league and should hopefuly get promoted, but if I sell all my good players now, i will most definantley fall down the table. I might be in the blue for a while but eventualy I will be in debt again and having to repeat this whole process - a never ending circle.
I have a high wage bil but as I said, it's the reason I am doing well in the league. In fact, my wage limit is £7,000 a week, and I currently spend £6,750 roughly, so I am in budget.
I have attached some photos of my finances, maybe someone can see a problem? Any ideas what to do? I heard somewhere that friendly matches can help somehow? Is that just me going crazy?! Lol anyone else have this problem?
Ok thanks! Any advice on how to arrange these high profile friendlies? What about leagues and cups? tours? are they better or worse? also do i have to pay the clubs fees to play in the friendly?
Not tours, you need to play home to get the income from your stadium. The best is to be early when asking big teams if they want to join. However, as I played with Chelsea I saw that it was difficult to play against the bigger teams in pre-season without giving them an decent amount of money. That might be hard for you.
But remember that in pre-season you earn ALOT of money, and if you are promoted your income will increase. So I say dont sell anyone, you need them more than money next season.
Not really done it in 08, but in 07 as a Championship side Id arrange home games against German premiership sides, that seemed to bring in a few fans. (For some reason I found it easier to bring foreign clubs than English premiership clubs!)
Even games against local rivals used to bring in a fair bit of cash.
Used to make about 500k every pre-season doing this.
I would keep going, ignore the finances until promotion. Its the boards problem not yours, and if the chairman starts selling players m8, i would leave and search for another club.
if you get promotion the finances should steady out. With increased attendances along with high profile friendlies at home you should get a big boost.
try to get a good cup run where the rewards are good if u progress round after round. Even better if these games are home.
mmm I'm playing in a cup round now im in the quarter final but no money rewards i think. Does anyone know how the spanish second devision promotion works? I'll probably finish second or third in the league - will i have to go through play-offs or something? Hope fully that and the cup will give me some money!
Anyone know if the spanish federal cup has any prize money at the end? lol
