Has anyone else noticed that, after applying the full 8.0.1 patch, the CPU stays at 100% for fm.exe while fm08 is processing? Even when it is not processing, the CPU is at 60%. Memory usage is fine (500mb-700mbs).

I am not too sure whether this is an issue or it is meant to be like this.

My specs:

Intel Pentium D Core2Dual 3.00GHZ
2.5G RAM
Windows XP

My CPU is only 33% when i have FM running.

Windows Vista
2gb of Ram.

Have you tried doing that msconfig thing and closing down a few programmes that you don't need but run in the background?

I am not too sure what the 'msconfig' thing is....

I don't run any other programs, I even disabled autoprotect from my Norton antivirus.

trust me mate. look up msconfig on google, it will give you an insight on what it does and how to boost performance on your computer manually if you dont trust me then well as a Scot i say Poor man's McLeish 2-3 Croatia weeeeyyy

WTF I just installed the patch 8.0.1 and I have it too.. even when not processing matches it keeps running at 95-100%

this wasnt at all with beta patch, maybe 50% but not more, could it be a mekmory leak? ffs!! we wait so long for patch and its still messed up...

its not a bug. runs just fine. mine is at 19%, spiking at 49%.

im guessing you are running a pc thats a few years old.

as much as i bagged SI for screwing up the release with the bugs, this time they've done a stirling job.

lets not start dreaming up new problems

I am currently experiencing much longer processing times with the 8.0.1 patch. I am still playing an old saved game so maybe I will try a new start. My CPU usage averages at 50% with very occasional spikes to 100%.

In my old saved game I had a Large database and extra players selected from all major European countries + UK/ROI. Pre-patch the processing time was fine.
