Just out of curiosity, I am still running FM07, I'm buying FM08 after my exam in 2 weeks time.
Last night I decided to download the FM08 patch so that I had it on my NEW Vista Laptop, ready for the new game, and I was still running my FM07 game at the same time.
Strangely my FM07 game started to run horrendously slowly, even taking more than 10 times longer to save and quit.
When I looked at my CPU it was suddenly running at between 85-98%. Before last night it had generally run at between 6-15%.
I thought I would shut the maching down and try it again today, I just wonder if the patch affects a currently running game of either FM07 or FM08.
Just a thought.........

Hey there.
I run an older machine, it was 1.8ghz, with 378 mg of ram. Yeah, ancient, but was used to it. However when i started fm 08, it was much quicker than i remembered 07, until the beta patch, where it slowed down horredously. now have upgraded to 1 gig of ram, but it still ran very slowly.
This was a known error, and was going to be fixed, but after downloading 8.01 it is still very slow. now i am still running a previous save game. Could someone tell me, if, the problem has been corrected, or if it will fix itself if i start a new game??

Mine seems fine. A lot smoother and seems to be back to the quick processing speeds of the unpatched version. :thup:
