I've been a fan of fm for a long time now and with all the games I've played I have never got the patches. I'm afraid they will ruin the game, as there are so many complaints about them.
What is the bonuses for the patches? and what patches do you recommend?

It's the 7.02 patch for FM 2007.
Most patches don't add new features although some add updated transfers from the January transfer window (7.02 for FM 2007 and 6.03 for FM 2006 I believe).

Patches are (relatively) common throughout the gaming industry, to correct issues which were made apparent after the game shipped.
Most patches fix much more than they break. This makes them good.
Be aware, those you hear complaining about them are the vocal minority. The silent majority of users are out there playing the game and having fun, and don't take the time to come here and not complain.
