what a mouse, i actually pictured a cartoon in my head of it escaping.
first its just sitting there looking at the cats, then all of a sudden it shoots off in between the cats leaving that white whisp of smoke behind it and the cats both move into the middle to get it and bang head, followed by little birds and stars floating around their heads |

well done little mouse. well done!
| It'll find somewhere quiet to hide, and then die of shock. Don't worry though, the flies will find it, and then the smell will alert you.

Yeah, the cat's probably as good as dead anyway. It its skin has been punctured, it will almost certainly bleed to death / get an infection and die.
Kindest thing to do in these situations is to stick them in a bucket of water. No mess, no "whack it with a hammer" (Messy and not really in keeping with putting it out of its misery).
Our youngest cat tends to occasionally bring things in. Once just found a beak and a pair of feet at the bottom of the stairs. Also seen the living room look like someone's ripped a pillow open in there before. Our other cat is too old now, at 15 he doesn't bother any more.

| You should be worried that a bruised, ****ed off mouse with a vendetta is on the loose in your house.
