lineups this series have seemed really weak. turned on a couple of weeks back and Hard Fi were on doing a piano-led ballad: will not ever be watching again

yeah, sorry if my post gave the impression that Hard-Fi doing their usual knuckle-dragging rubbish would have been preferable.

and Jools does have a history of booking terrible bands every series long past their commercial sell-by date just because they're his drinking buddies at the Groucho club - how many times have Fun Loving Criminals been on the show? how many times has Jay Kay been the main guest (i.e the one interviewed) with someone talented like a Costello or a Cave booked on the show too?

This should be an improvement on the last couple of shows. King Creosote being rather wonderful as usual but 3 doses of Stereophonics and announcing that PJ Harvey is from Somerset.

shouldn't this show be highlighting bands that aren't established? the Stereophonics have 3 or 4 UK No1 albums and apart from some songs on the last album and their earlier stuff are boring as hell

I don't think they need any more publicity as anything they spout out will be bought by the UK public
