Apparently i'm a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist.

Who's books seem to focus on the Jews during the holocaust, inlcuding "Hole in the heart of the world" and who could forget "Broken alliance".

Apparently though i am a big friendly man, a talker, who began to be fascinated by the subject of race after joining The Boston Globe in 1982.

A SELF-confessed pimp walked free from court after a judge was told police had "turned a blind eye" to organised prostitution in massage parlours in Manchester.

Brothel owner Ian Barnett said he was allowed to run two establishments for three years because of the policy adopted by Greater Manchester Police and the Home Office.

Barnett even attended regular meetings between the owners of saunas, a council representative and the police Prostitute Liaison Officer when the running of brothels was discussed.

Ladies and gentlemen of the Jury, it is the intention of the Defense to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. Keith Lynch did not kill or cause the death of his wife, Mrs. Gina B. Lynch. It is also our intention to prove that detectives of the Dekalb County Major Felony Unit have not only failed the Lynch family in finding out what truly happened to Mrs. Lynch on May 28, 2001, but also failed the citizens of the state of Georgia.
We will introduce evidence to support that detectives were negligent in their investigation, and we will present detectives' case notes that will also prove to you that they used the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Child Advocate, Ms. Dorothy Murphy and the Juvenile Court System to conduct their investigation in an attempt to solve the death of Mrs. Lynch. Detectives involved in this case conspired with these institutions in their investigation from the very beginning. It was never their intention to solve the death of Mrs. Lynch, but rather to accomplish the removal of Mr. Lynch's children and the termination of his parental rights.
Statements provided by Mr. Lynch's cousin, Olander Lynch, and from other witnesses were instrumental in this conspiracy along with Detectives S.A. Stanfield and M.L. Potter. These detectives misused their positions not only in the removal of Mr. Lynch's children, but also in having him indicted in the death of his wife.
The Dekalb County Medical Examiner, Doctor John Parker, performed the autopsy on Mrs. Lynch June 6, 2001. We will introduce detectives' case notes and other documents to prove that Doctor Parker did not know the identity of Mrs. Lynch when he conducted the autopsy. Ladies and gentlemen, Doctor Parker listed Mrs. Lynch's death as an undetermined homicide. Jurors, how could someone be indicted and incarcerated for a murder when the state cannot prove how that person died? We will present evidence that will show you how the District Attorney's Office obtained it's indictment against our client.
The Defense will introduce Mr. Lynch's character in the pages you are about to read and most of you will not like him. Some of you might even say he got what he deserved, but ladies and gentlemen, this is not a popularity contest. A wife, mother, daughter, and sister has died and an innocent man stands accused. Mr. Lynch has committed crimes against society in his past and paid for those mistakes, but he is not a murderer! The state cannot present one eyewitness, blood sample, or even DNA evidence linking Mr. Lynch to the death or location where his wife's body was discovered. Detectives obtained a search warrant for Mr. Lynch's home on the night of June 6, even though the identity of Mrs. Lynch was not established until days later. Detectives removed several items from Mr. Lynch's home on the night of June 6, 2001. The report of those items states that nothing was located to support that Mr. Lynch had any connection to the death of his wife. Jurors the actions of detectives involved in this investigation will prove their bias against Mr. Lynch, because how else did they obtain a search warrant for his home when they didn't know Mrs. Lynch's identity, and why wasn't anyone else's home searched in their investigation.
We will further prove that Judge, Robin S. Nash of the Dekalb County Juvenile Court had knowledge of these detectives in the aforementioned and allowed these detectives to heartlessly abuse the Lynch family. What occurred to this family should not have happened in America. The Lynch children were illegally kidnapped under the guise of justice. This was done before conducting an investigation into the allegations of parental deprivation. It is our position that Judge Nash illegally terminated Keith Lynch's parental rights and allowed his children to be adopted without any proof of wrongdoing.
We as Americans have been taught that our judges are to be impartial when they sit in judgment of people's lives. Citizens rely on our courts to be fair and equal, and that the playing grounds are leveled. Judges such as Robin Nash are supposed to be the protectors of individuals' rights. The Constitution states that a person is innocent until guilt can be proven, but in Mr. Lynch's case, the Constitution did not work in his favor. He was considered guilty from the very beginning by the same people who were sworn to protect his rights as a citizen.
As jurors, it is your job to review with the utmost scrutiny the forty-eight exhibits listed in the Major Felony Unit Supplemental Report (MFSR), which made up this investigation. You will see that everything except detectives' case notes were supplied, which we had to subpoena along with other important information that is not listed. After a careful review, you will see that the detectives' case notes support our position that detectives involved in this case made a rushed in their judgment against Mr. Lynch, which created their bias towards him. And it is because of this bias that the person or persons responsible for the alleged crime perpetrated against Mrs. Lynch may go unpunished.
Let us not forget that Mr. Lynch wrote letters to officials seeking help, which were not part of the discovery. It is these same letters that will prove Mr. Lynch attempted to receive assistance in the case of his children. Officer Billinger of the Dekalb County Jail Law Library notarized each and every letter, and supplied a certificate of service with these letters so that the court could not deny the letters were received.
The events we are about to present to you are true, and the injustice is real. Court transcripts, police reports, witnesses' statements, tapes, and letters all support these facts. The information and comments you are about to review are part of the State of Georgia's case. These documents were supplied to the Dekalb District Attorney's Office by the Major Felony Unit and are a part of the seventeen pages of information concerning the malicious and improper investigation conducted by detectives.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is very important that you are able to follow the events that had begun on the afternoon of May 28, 2001. The Defense would ask that you take notes of the events that unfolded in the life of the accused, Mr. Keith Lynch. This way, you can come to a fair determination of what occurred. The police department, public officials, and the juvenile court system failed Keith Lynch and his family, and after we present you with the evidence, you will be compelled to return with a verdict of not guilty !
